Samsung and Rose: Preserving literary traditions with the “Yasnaya Polyana” Leo Tolstoy award for literature
Rose, a top Russian marketing and public relations agency, has, for the twelfth straight year, provided public relations support for the annual literary award "Yasnaya Polyana" and its annual award ceremony for 2014. The award was established by the Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy and Samsung Electronics supported by Rose in 2003. The annual award ceremony took place in the Beethoven Hall of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. The seven finalists were announced on September, 16.
The award ceremony was attended by the finalists, the minister of Culture, Vladmir Medinsky, Samsung’s CIS HQ president Sang Chul Lee, distinguished representatives from the world of literature, as well as general and business media, radio and TV channels, including TASS agency, Lenta.ru, KommersantFM, OTR and Korean TV channel KBS. A press conference immediately followed the ceremony.
“Yasnaya Polyana" awards the best literary works which uphold the spirit of Leo Tolstoy in the traditional form of three nominations: "Contemporary Classic», «XXI Century" and "Childhood. Adolescence. Youth ". This year’s winners are Boris Ekimov - in "Contemporary Classic" nomination with "Pinochet", Arsen Titov – in «XXI Century" nomination with "Shadow of Behistung" and Roman Senchin – in "Childhood. Adolescence. Youth" nomination with “What do you want?".
